Recommended for: Twilighters and those who think Twilight is too girly or that Edward always has things under control.
My hope: That MS might be included in the Official Guide that keeps getting pushed farther and farther back.
Download Midnight Sun partial draft 12 chapters
[This really should be a letter to Stephenie but with no way for average humans to reach her, I share my thoughts about Midnight Sun (as integral to the whole Twilight saga) with all who have interest in this book!]
First, thank you Stephenie for making the MS partial draft available to those of us who already LOVE your work, even though it was a painful thing and time to do so. Most if not all of us desire its completion EVEN you totally rewrite what you’ve done so far. We love your characters, YOUR writing, your methods of unraveling stories; we are not so bonded to what you first wrote so far with this story that we can’t bend. The perspectives and experiences you write into Edward’s life allow us to bond with him better from the start. And we learn so much more of the Cullen family atmosphere and relationships. I already adored Bella from weakness and insecurity to strength determination and valor she gains along the way. So MS helped me see Edward’s struggles, his true devotion, charm and integrity.

Stephenie Meyer (Twilight movie) brags on Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart and what they bring to Edward and Bella (see video clip below). I for one am tired of hearing the negative reactions and fears that EW and MTV post just to keep active discussions going online. So I was find this interview (on EW) where Stephenie says watching Rob shift into Edward-mode was a stunning, miraculous thing and she is very excited about his strength in this role. She also loves Kristen as Bella saying even her voice is just like she imagined while writing Twilight! Stephenie’s only concern was how beautiful Kristen is (what a great problem to have!) but makeup and wardrobe experts downplay her glamour (see early photo shoots and posters) bringing out her softer and very convincing shy, fragile girlhood.
See the Video! (sorry we couldn’t pull this one in)

The Host: A Novel by Stephenie Meyer
My review
 rating: 3 of 5 stars
A good, interesting, enjoyable read but too much detail for me to wade through in the beginning before I could really connect with the main characters. It took a while to dig in and find something to identify with that would draw me in. Although some reviewers see similarities to character types in Stephenie’s Twilight series, The Host NEVER caused me to feel the way I did the entire time I read, re-read and still read Twilight! So don’t pick this up hoping for more of the same. Maybe only people who didn’t enjoy Twilight notice the similarities - I didn’t until I read reviews. Read More »
