Ode to Night

November 20th, 2008 |

Night is quiet, has brilliant stars,
shimmering moonlight shining upon me,
the chorus of the animals soothe my ears,
and I for one am not a coward
when night bestows
 upon my house,
bedroom, and eyes.

The water of the sea, The songs of the wind, Who do you want to be, Where do you want to begin?

Maybe you could pretend, Or you could dream it, When you choose your life, Who will be there to believe it?

Your friends, neighbors, and friends around you, I know they will believe, If you tell them who you are, And who you want to be.

People that you don’t even know, Will gather to hear your stories, And your poems, songs, and rhythms, To help choose their destiny.

Even though you are only you, And I am only me, Everything is part of a plan, And everything you see.

All the wonderful nature around you, The plants and the trees, The mountains and the sea, Along with the flatlands and prairies.

They are very special and different, In every single way, But you are even more special, Because God loves you in every way.

And when you believe God is there, Every single independent day, You become one of his prized posessions, That he puts you with his treasure.

His gold and silver crowns, His ever-lasting jewels and roses, They are nothing to God, That can compare to you and me.

Don’t hide out in the cold, The snow, rain, and sleet, Because you are very special, And everyone thinks you’re neat.

Every mistake you make, Is never impossible to fix, Because God sacrificed his only son, So you were forgiven ever since.

Everyone who listens, Wants to be like you, So why not be yourself, And show the world what you can do.

Don’t ever give up making the path, Because others want to follow, God wants everyone to take his path, And leave their pain and sorrow.

It is said in the Holy Bible, And every single day, The verse that stickes out in my head, That tells you to never fear any thing.

God pleads us to pray to him, Independently and in groups, To fight the battles before us, To pray for more troops.

No matter who you are, Losers and winners alike, We are all different and somehow the same, But somehow we start the fight.

Which ever path we take, Whether you win or lose, Please let it end in a good way, Under a pearl-colored cresent moon.

I hope you become a Christian, I didn’t type it by mistake, I mean it with all my heart, With the chances I will take.

I am a Christian, Yes,you heard me clear, And my goal is to make you one, By the end of the year.

I hope we will be friends, And be angels in the clear, And I won’t stop trying, Until Jesus Christ is here.
