The Host: A Novel The Host: A Novel by Stephenie Meyer

My review

  rating: 3 of 5 stars
A good, interesting, enjoyable read but too much detail for me to wade through in the beginning before I could really connect with the main characters. It took a while to dig in and find something to identify with that would draw me in.  Although some reviewers see similarities to character types in Stephenie’s Twilight series, The Host NEVER caused me to feel the way I did the entire time I read, re-read and still read Twilight! So don’t pick this up hoping for more of the same. Maybe only people who didn’t enjoy Twilight notice the similarities - I didn’t until I read reviews. Read More »

Smitten by Twilight

“YOU ARE BIZARRELY MORAL FOR A VAMPIRE!” Bella chuckles to Edward, the lover of her SOUL in truest form… for he will not forfeit her soul’s chance at heaven to satisfy his own desires, nor even her own -though he denies her nothing else and would trade his own existence to save her from pain.

Edward and Isabella are drawn to and compelled by one another, revolving around each other like satellites, her mom once said. Though her presence tortures him almost as much as her absence, and though his world brings danger to her life at every turn, their devotion sets in motion a spiraling chain of events that cannot be stopped… only endured. Yet as true love is eternal, even death will not separate them. -twilight review by Holly Simmers, Rebourne Media, 9/14/08 Read More »
